Price alerts for electronics

Electronics prices move with launches, sales weeks and rival shops. A "was" price on the page does not say what the shop charged last month. DipCatch reads the price every day, keeps the history, and tells you when a product reaches the price you want.

What this looks like

A pair of wireless earbuds is €99.95 at mediamarkt.nl, and the page shows "was €129". DipCatch read €94 there two weeks before the offer, so the product page says so beside the claim. Set €89 as your price and you hear about it the day any of your shops gets there.

Getting the most out of it

  • Track the exact model and colour you want. A price for "AirPods" is a price for four different products.
  • Add two or three shops. Electronics shops follow each other, so the first one to drop tells you the round has started.
  • Set a price you would pay today. Waiting for the lowest price ever can mean waiting past the model you wanted.

Shops we know well

Paste a product link from any other shop as well. Most shops work. We only set a shop up ourselves when its page is too tricky to read otherwise.

Common questions

Which electronics shops work?

Paste a product link. We set up MediaMarkt, Expert, Megekko, bol.com and Amazon.nl ourselves. Other webshops often work as well, Coolblue among them, and you see what we found before you save it.

Is the "was" price on the page a real discount?

By law, a shop must measure a discount from its own lowest price in the 30 days before it. When DipCatch has read the shop through those 30 days, the product page puts that lowest price beside the claim, so you can judge it yourself.

Does it show the price history?

Yes. Every product has a chart of its lowest price over time, across the shops you follow. The free plan shows 90 days, Pro keeps everything.

What about marketplace sellers on MediaMarkt and bol.com?

DipCatch reads the offer the page shows, which can be a partner seller. It notes the seller where the page names one, and a different seller’s price is never used to judge another seller’s discount.

How often are prices checked?

Once when you add the link, then once a day on the free plan and every six hours on Pro.

Can I follow a product that is sold out?

Yes. DipCatch keeps checking, and the product page says whether it was in stock the last time we looked.
